Brush Features
A: All of our brush bristles are optimized with a combo of length + flexibility for an ideal pull for each hair type. The bristles are shorter and softer for finer hair and longer and stiffer for thicker hair, making it easier to tackle your hair’s toughest tangles. The medium is a great in-between of the two, and if you’re unsure, we recommend the medium.
Also, our bristles are infused with ions that are stripped from your strands, helping to reduce frizz, static, & dryness with each stroke. All in all, the Gimme Detangling Brush is an ideal choice for styling, smoothing, & detangling all hair types.
A: A clean hairbrush is crucial for scalp health and hair growth. Product buildup, dead skin cells and loose hair all contribute to a hairbrush that could be doing your freshly washed hair more harm than good. If you’re looking for a good way to clean your brush quickly and efficiently check out our blog: How To Clean Your Detangling Brush.
A: There are many opinions as to the best way to brush your hair– how often to do it, and depending on your hair type and texture– it might be recommended to not brush at all. But should you brush your hair wet? The answer here is highly conditional based on your hair texture {what works for one person often won’t work for another}.
For those with straight hair, brushing wet hair can be harmful. Your hair is at its most vulnerable when wet, and brushing in this condition can overstretch, over pull and tear your hair. Your hair will be at its strongest when dry.
For those with curly or textured hair, it will be the opposite: you probably shouldn’t brush your curly hair dry. Brushing curly or textured hair when it is wet actually helps reduce breakage and helps to keep the curl pattern intact. We recommend using a detangling, wide-tooth comb through wet curly hair.
