Gimme Girls Run This City: LA Marathon Recap
The sun was out, the ponytails were tied, and the energy was high. The LA Marathon weekend was electric—not only were we there to show up for our community and hype up the marathoners, but we had four of our very own Gimme Girls to cheer for, too.
From March 6 to 8, we set up shop at the Marathon Expo at Dodger Stadium, surrounded by thousands of runners and supporters ready to take on race day. We handed out Bounce Back Bands to runners and attendees to help them prep for the big day and keep their hair secure all the way to the finish line. (What better way to test the keep-up-ability of a hair band than with a 26.2-miler?) We held signs throughout the race inspiring the runners to give it their all, with messages like “Gimme Girls run this city!” and “ask me for a hair band!” (which they definitely did, and we were happy to give).
Beyond the race itself — which we’re SO proud of our Gimme Girls for running and finishing — it was amazing to see the community come together and support one another. It’s what Gimme is all about: inspiring each other’s confidence and building each other up to be the best version of ourselves. We’re keeping that energy from race day and bringing it beyond. ✨
