What makes your brushes different from other detangling brushes?

Our brushes are designed specifically for different hair types, ensuring a smooth, tug-free experience. With a cushioned pad, ergonomic handle, and high-quality bristles, they glide through knots without pulling or damaging hair.

How do I choose the right detangling brush for my hair type?

  • Thick Hair: Choose our Thick Hair Detangling Brush for strong detangling power.
  • Fine Hair: Our Fine Hair Detangling Brush gently smooths delicate strands without breakage.
  • Medium / Any Hair: The Medium Hair Detangling Brush is a versatile option for balanced detangling and styling.

What’s the difference between nylon bristles and metal bristles?

Nylon bristles are flexible and gentle, making them great for detangling without damage. Metal bristles provide a firmer grip on hair, offering more scalp stimulation and effective detangling for thick or dense hair types.

What is the best way to clean my brush?

A clean hairbrush is crucial for scalp health and hair growth. Product buildup, dead skin cells and loose hair all contribute to a hairbrush that could be doing your freshly washed hair more harm than good. If you’re looking for a good way to clean your brush quickly and efficiently check out our blog: How To Clean Your Detangling Brush.

Can you brush wet hair?

There are many opinions as to the best way to brush your hair– how often to do it, and depending on your hair type and texture– it might be recommended to not brush at all. But should you brush your hair wet? The answer here is highly conditional based on your hair texture {what works for one person, often won’t work for another}.
For those with straight hair, brushing wet hair can be harmful. Your hair is at its most vulnerable when wet and brushing in this condition can overstretch, over pull and tear your hair. Your hair will be at its strongest when dry.
For those with curly or textured hair, it will be the opposite: you probably shouldn’t brush your curly hair dry. Brushing curly or textured hair when it is wet actually helps reduce breakage and helps to keep the curl pattern intact. We recommend using a detangling, wide-tooth comb through wet curly hair.
How should you brush? It all begins In the shower, focus on keeping your hair from tangling by using your fingers or a detangling comb in the shower while shampooing and conditioning. This will be a gentler way to keep from getting your hair tangled. We encourage those with straight hair to wait until your hair is dry to do any further brushing. For those with curly hair, the best time to brush or detangle is before you shampoo, to make this detangling process easier and safer on your hair. After shampooing, using a coat of conditioner and detangling gently with a wide-tooth comb or your fingers will further help this process. Moisture is key in order to prevent damage while brushing.
Remember, any type of rigorous pulling and tugging is going to be harmful to hair. Be gentle on your hair as you brush!

Do your brushes work on extensions or wigs?

Yes! Our detangling brushes work well on natural hair and synthetic or real-hair extensions. For wigs, we recommend using gentle strokes to avoid pulling on the cap.
Here are some quick tips for brushing with extensions:

  • Start brushing at the ends of your hair in a downward motion.
  • Place your free hand over the attachment points of your extensions and hold the hair firmly to avoid tugging.
  • Work your way up through the mid-strand up to the attachment point. As you get to the attachment point, ensure you do not pull or catch the attachment points.
  • Do not aggressively pull the brush throughout the hair as it will cause breakage.
  • Address large knots by gently pulling them apart with your fingers.
  • For additional care, please ask your hairstylist.

Will this brush pull or break fine hair?

Nope! Our Fine Hair Detangling Brush is made with gentle, flexible bristles to prevent breakage and reduce pulling while effectively smoothing hair.

Does this brush create volume for fine hair?

Yes! The cushioned pad and flexible bristles help lift hair at the root, giving fine hair a bit more body.
